Inktober 2024
Once again I participated in this years Inktober challenge, and for the first time ever - I actually did all 31 days!
For those who haven’t heard of Inktober, it’s basically an Instagram drawing challenge where you get a prompt every day during the month of October, and every day you’re supposed to draw something related to that prompt and post it.
I first heard about it in 2019 and by then it had already been around for 10 years, and now it’s just huge! Thousands of people around the world participate in it.
To me, Inktober is a really fun way to challenge myself and push my creative boundaries (and kickstart the habit to draw everyday). And because there’s a whole community of artists out there doing the same thing as I am, it’s super fun to see everybody else’s interpretations and ideas of the very same thing I’ve been working on.
Ideally you’re only supposed to use black ink in the challenge, but as you’ll see, I’m too in love with my Copic Markers right now not to use them. I did limit my color palette though, which I’m very happy about.
My drawings also ended up having something of a bird theme this year, which definitely wasn’t planned, but that I now kind of love.
